
Teri Hatcher was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964 in Palo Alto California. Her mother Esther was an engineer at Lockheed Martin computer programmer, and her father Owen was an electrical engineer and nuclear physicist. She was educated by Esther. Teri was born in Sunnyvale and studied ballet at San Juan School of Dance. She was a student at Fremont High School, where she was the captain of the Featherettes dance team and was voted "Most Likely to Become an Solid Gold Dancer." Hatcher graduated in math and engineering from De Anza College after which she studied acting at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri disclosed that she had endured sexual abuse by her uncle Richard Hayes Stone, from the age of five. she assisted Santa Clara County prosecutors with their case against him after an innocent 14-year-old victim of Stone's committed suicide. Stone was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in four counts of molestation, and then he died from colon cancer in prison
